to help them minimize their impact on the environment.

 

Efforts to reduce carbon emissions and other environmental impacts are of growing importance throughout the transportation sector, and CPx is responding in various ways.

Equipment – CPx’s operating footprint is lightened through the use up-to-date and well-maintained equipment. With more than 90% of its fleet under three-years-old, the company has the benefit of the latest innovations in fuel-efficiency and emissions control. CPx also makes extensive use of innovative refrigerated containers which improve load-capacity efficiency relative to fuel consumption.

Operating Procedures – CPx’s sales and marketing team works closely with its operations team to minimize the number of miles its fleet moves empty.

Training – Various aspects of the company’s extensive driver-training programs – including idle reduction, speed control, and optimal gearing – have environmental benefits in the form of reduced emissions.

CPx is committed to continuing to deploy new and commercially feasible equipment and operating procedures as they become available. It has a particular interest in the use of renewable biodiesel – the availability of which is expected to improve over time.
